A letter of gratitude spanning 16 years reflects a lasting bond between doctor and patient. In 2004, Zhang Cheng (pseudonym) developed a tumor that nearly took his life. Dr. Jin Dadi, then Director of Orthopedics at Nanfang Hospital and now President of Huaxin Orthopedic Hospital, performed a highly complex cervical schwannoma resection that helped him recover.

“I was once a critically ill patient at your hospital, and you successfully saved my life.” This letter of thanks, written 16 years later by a patient in his 90s, is brief and plain yet filled with gratitude. In December 2004, a malignant tumor involving the C2 cervical nerve nearly took his life. After referral, Professor Jin Dadi successfully performed the surgery.
